ITINERARY

Day 1: Catania/Taormina
Transfer to your hotel (Caesar Palace or similar 4 star) on your own. Meet with the tour escort. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Taormina/Mt. Etna/Taormina
Buffet breakfast at your hotel and, conditions permitting, excursion to mount etna to 1800 meters to visit the sylvester craters. Back to taormina. Lunch on your own and afternoon at leisure or enjoy an optional excursion (to be paid locally) to visit the village of savoca the famous catacombs of the cappuccini convent and bar vitelli - used in the shooting of the "godfather" in 1971. Then a scenic drive to forza d'agrò. Includes a walking tour through the peaceful streets, churches and cathedrals. Return to taormina. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 3: Taormina/Siracusa/Taormina
Buffet breakfast at your hotel and depart to syracuse to visit the archaeological area, including the greek theatre, the dyonisios ear, the latomie of the paradise. The visit continues with the historical and baroque center situated on ortigia island. Enjoy the beautiful atmosphere which envelopes this small island. Time at leisure for lunch. Back to taormina. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day 4: Taormina/Piazza Armerina/Agrigento/Palermo
Buffet breakfast at your hotel and then depart to piazza armerina to visit the roman villa del casale, famous for its more than 3500 sqm of well preserved mosaics. Continue to agrigento. Lunch on your own. Visit the valley of the temples, known for its well preserved greek temples. Continue to palermo. Dinner and overnight at hotel (Grande Albergo Sole or similar 4 star).
Day 5: Palermo/Monreale/(Erice)/Palermo
Buffet breakfast at your hotel. In the morning, visit the town of palermo including: the palatine chapel, the cathedral of palermo. Continue to monreale, visit the cathedral and its cloister. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, time at leisure to enjoy the afternoon in the sicilian capital, or participate in an optional excursion (to be paid locally) to erice, medieval village of erice, viewing the city of trapani. Erice will draw our attention thanks to the tiny cobblestone medieval streets.
Day 6: Palermo/Segesta/Marsala/Palermo
Buffet breakfast at your hotel and depart to segesta to visit the doric temple perched on a hill, surrounded by beautiful landscape. Continue to trapani to view the salt windmills, then to marsala. Marsala wine tasting and lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit the small city of marsala and back to palermo. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 7: Palermo/Cefalu/Castelbuono/Palermo
Buffet breakfast at your hotel and depart to cefalù, on the northern coast where we will visit the famous cathedral. Lunch on your own. Continue to castelbuono, a beautiful village on the madonie mountains which will give us a snapshot of the sicilian inland’s way of life. Return to palermo. Farewell dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 8: Palermo
Buffet breakfast at hotel. End of tour.
